an almost perfect weekend - well, *nothing* is perfect, right?

remember the announcement i was telling u about? telling u later.

the wkend started off on friday night when we went to fulfill our visual satisfaction with a movie, The Reaping.. good movie, very biblical-horror in nature so i didn't really know what was coming next or whatever in relation to the plague yada yada.. but all in all, a good friday night show.

next morning, we woke up at around 10ish and i did some laundry. had lunch at some nasi campur restaurant and then i felt a sense of utter dead-weighing sleepiness. so after that we went home to lepaks. balik je rumah, i slept from 3-6pm i think.. damn syiok man. malam tu we went to have dinner at Hartamas Square, then went to Bangsar ViIIage for a look-see cos we hadn't been there yet.

Bangsar ViIIage (of the damned ;) is a league of its own. even the Vincci there is of premium scale i.e. MAHAL. but the shoes were damn lovely lah.. a pair of court shoes would cost u somewhere around RM139.90 to RM189.90 ish. nothing i picked up was less than RM100. go figure.

other shops there were of course the mahals kind. some were unfamiliar to me but jual benda2 biasa at a premium price. very snotty indeed.

but i did find a good accessories shop - Aldo. their bags are reasonable la to me. i'm thinking of getting this black (what else) handbag for work at RM166. it's big and roomy, perfect for mrs. hypochondriac here. i can put all sorts of meds i want in there and maybe a small sundry shop hehe. i couldn't get it with the hubs lingering around the other day cos nanti he'll be thinking, "waa banyaknya duit bini aku beli benda2 yang dia dah ada. bila nak beli grocery, aku jugak kena bayor". haha maybe he won't think that, but what if he does? beli belakang dia is mucho better than depan2 dia, kan?

so anyway, as we strolled out of Bangsar ViIIage, we heard a live band playing at The Social. kaypohchi modes on, we went to see what the ruckus was all about and to our delight, there was this 7-piece jazz band with a good girl singer. uber coolness! we decided to "have a drink" (teh la bukan alco ok) and listen to the girl croon. it was worth it. we haven't enjoyed a jazz band in yonks and this was a much pleasant welcome.

balik rumah lepas tu, citer "Crash" was on channel 42 so aku pun tengok la while the lover read his newspapers (yes he likes to read his papers at night when the whole world already knows what's going on) and we slept at around 3am.

sunday morning, woke up at 8am to let the cleaner in, tido balik sampai pukul 10.30 gitu. got up and watched some tv until afternoon and then had buffet lunch at Sheraton Subang. afterwards, we went to Sunway Pyramid to do some random shopping then went back home to (what else) sleep again. i cooked some pasta for dinner.

at about 9.15pm i was just about to lipat the laundry when the lights went off. aiyoo power failure la pulak.. this is my first time ever since i moved in this house. it was a bleedingly hot night so jim took me out where there were lights. the whole of Ara D'sara was affected so kitaorang pegi mamak, minum sambil baca paper. half hour later they corrected the problem and we went back home to a brightly lit house with panda doing a circus act pacing on the window ledge. sheeesh.

watched some CSI right before i slept and the night was spent dreaming about running away from smthg. now on monday morning, my body is tired (from the running) and i feel a little bit dizzy (still from the running).

trivia: i don't run in my waking hours, so does running in my sleep count as exercise? :D

so there goes my almost perfect wkend... hubba-hubba is gonna go offshore in miri this wednesday to next monday, hence the "almost". it's like he's bribing me with good memories so that when he's away, i won't feel so sad. sigh... my "almost" perfect husband is "almost" too sweet sometimes.. (yes yes i am grateful)

all in all, the wkend was kinda perfect cos i got to sleep a lot hehe. i like :)

ok so now comes the big announcement.

i didn't ask for this ok, i wasn't even looking. but that's why i said aku ni murah rejeki kot.

NOTE to kay and abang lan (or mana2 orang ofis yang baca blog aku): please don't tell anyone in the office yet, especially our dept. just keep it to yourself first and i'll tell them when the time is right.

i received a call from the national oil & gas company for a job interview. it totally came out of the blue. so i went, expecting nothing (cos i've gone there for interviews before i started working here but they became silent afterward when they saw how much i was asking for). but this time, they called me in for a 2nd interview with the ceo, and a third with the HR. and last two fridays, i got an offer letter.

so ya guys, i'm gonna be changing jobs quite soon. i just wanna emphasize that i didn't go out looking for a job, it looked for me.

honestly? i feel like i'm in a relationship that's moving too fast. i'm not quite certain if i'm ready to make the jump (again), but when is "ready" anyways?

the funny thing is, i submitted my application and resume to them 3 years ago ok. tu yang terkejut badak tu.

i haven't tendered in my resignation here yet, am strategizing my departure. i would like to have a week off before i start at the new place lah. rileks2 dulu... i might start there on my bday.
so itu lah announcement aku.
